Next time 04:02
Next time Days and days, and miles and miles Heading for the final blow We had it coming, we had it coming The moment we decided to go And now you’re standing here Crying in the pouring rain We could have been lying in the sun and it’s driving you insane I know it’s me babe, me and my lazy feet I know it’s me babe, one day I’ll take the lead Next time I’ll be on time Next time I’ll be on time Next time I’ll be on time I won’t go, I won’t go I should’ve been ready, all ready Just to ease your worried mind I feel it coming, I feel it coming It’s starting to unwind I sure hope we’re not fighting in vain There’s nothing I can do Wish I had a carbon copy in my brain Like you, like you I know it’s me babe, me and my lazy feet I know it’s me babe, one day I’ll take the lead Next time I’ll be on time Next time I’ll be on time Next time I’ll be on time I won’t go, I won’t go

Close the door And so we’re here Coming in from the cold Nice and warm but it’s Creeping up on you Fluffy towels and kittens and Fluffy clouds in my brain An early start, every day Not knowing what to do Close the door, we’ve got to close the door Close the door and turn it down Our hairy little friends left us What a way to be thankful I hear the wheels And tons of steel passing by We came all this way but it took only minutes To find me shouting in the cold I don’t wanna see them die Close the door, we’ve got to close the door Close the door and turn it down We’ve got to turn it down, turn it down And now we’re here The table top is shining And B. is an angel Always good for a laugh Don’t want to know what could’ve happened If the dice hadn’t been that lucky Good to know they roll On our behalf Close the door, we’ve got to close the door Close the door and turn it down We’ve got to turn it down, turn it down

Dear memory 04:02
Dear memory You were sitting down on the floor Trembling with the riddle in your mind Still the crowd begged you for a little more Don’t you think it’s time you leave it all behind And then I saw it in your eyes Tried to hide it deep inside your heart But in the words I heard the silent cries covered by the whisper of your art Dear memory Write a song for me Dear memory Youth and age, joined in harmony Again it took you by surprise A bitter sweet ancient symphony In water colour paint that never dries Dear memory Write a song for me Dear memory You were sitting down on the floor Trembling with the riddle in your mind Still the crowd begged you for a little more Don’t you think it’s time you leave it all behind

These are the times I read about the old days Closing up on me With people finding so many ways To capture soul and good old harmony And now we celebrate the future It kicked in like a rocket The only good vibrations left are the ones We feel in each and every pocket. These are the times These are the times that we’ve been waiting for Finally we’re all online These are the times that we’ve been waiting for And everybody seems to be just fine These are the times that we’ve been waiting for They’re hanging in the pillows As close as they be can be Every screen marks a soul unseen While birds keep singing the good old harmony Remember when the sun was always shining Running around, home was far away It all happened around the corner But let’s not talk about yesterday These are the times that we’ve been waiting for Finally we’re all online These are the times that we’ve been waiting for And everybody seems to be just fine These are the times that we’ve been waiting for We’re one big happy family Hooked on digital drugs The whole wide world is cuddling up on me We stick together like fly paper bugs, fly paper bugs These are the times that we’ve been waiting for Finally we’re all online These are the times that we’ve been waiting for And everybody seems to be just fine, just fine These are the times that we’ve been waiting for

Stepping through There used to be a time I didn’t wonder There used to be a time it didn’t show Waiting for some sense of direction Why it took so long I still don’t know And I wonder how it happened It’s hard to welcome insecurity I didn’t even try to understand it It just felt so good to me Because of you Everything’s uncertain Because of you I’m stepping through the safety curtain Because of you Because of you Don’t want to be blind for beauty Don’t want to be scared for fame Don’t want to be deaf for answers I want to leave without wondering why I came Don’t worry about where we’re standing We take it day by day Life can be so demanding But I don’t want it any other way any other way, any other way Because of you Everything’s uncertain Because of you I’m stepping through the safety curtain Because of you Because of you

Easy to see 03:58
Easy to see It creeps into your mind before you know what’s happening It settles deep inside and there it stays And you may fight or just ignore But when it’s carved into the core It reappears in oh, so many ways Hard to get, easy to see Love will hardly ever set you free Tell me what you want me to be Tell me cause I want you to see me Tell me where you want me to go Cause I’ve been so close but I stil don’t know This is what it is, there’s no use denying It settled deep inside and it’s here to stay It can make you feel so blue To be one of the happy few It’s an unfair game we have to play Hard to get, easy to see Love will hardly ever set you free Tell me what you want me to do Tell me ‘cause I don’t want to lose you Tell me what you want me to say Cause it’s got to be clear when you go away Tell me what you want me to be Tell me cause I want you to see me Tell me where you want me to go Cause I’ve been so close but I stil don’t know

Songs 03:46
Songs There are songs about living Songs about death Songs about places no one knows Songs about being lucky Songs about love And a lot of songs about feeling kind of low I didn’t hear them all But I’m trying the best I can It’s an addiction, or some kind of disease But don’t bother looking For a cure Or any other medical expertise Sometimes it’s all that matters Sometimes it’s just a song Some food for thought and a few chords to pick It can change your life forever For better or for worse Although the one I’m singing now won’t do the trick Lalalalala There are songs about rainbows And songs about the rain Songs about a different point of view They sing about women They sing about men And someone wrote a song about a boy named Sue There are songs about politics Songs about the war And songs about the holy motherland I didn’t get them all And I tried the best I could But some are so damned hard to understand Sometimes it’s all that matters Sometimes it’s just a song Too much food for thought can make you sick And some can get quite famous And some can make you rich The one I’m singing now might do the trick Lalalalala There are songs that sound so simple And still they’re hard to play That’s the mystery of music, I guess Some songs last a lifetime And others we forget No one knows the secret to succes Sometimes it’s all that matters Sometimes it’s just a song Some food for thought and a few chords to pick And some can make you happy And some can make you sad Some are far too long and some end kind of quick Lalalalala

No sugar 04:23
No sugar When I wake up in the morning, when the day is new I never know exactly what I wanna do I’m as cranky as a hobo sleeping in the cold And those birds are celebrating another day unfolding, hey I hate the light that’s shining in the cracks of my eyes And I hate all the pains, my back ain’t telling no lies I know I got to take a shower, I know I need to shave My brain is trying to figure out how it wants me to behave, hey And then I see, my love coming round for me Coming my way, she’s coming my way Oh yeah it’s hot, what my baby’s got is hot Coming my way, sugar’s coming my way But I don’t need no sugar, give me black coffee The clouds in my head are disappearing and my throat is feeling the heat And suddenly I know what it is I really need I say ‘drop the paper darling and I’ll show you what I’ve got’ ‘It’s not a big surprise, I know, but baby it’s a lot’, hey I’m walking in her footsteps, yes I’m following behind The moves she makes are making movies in my mind She gently pushes me around and drops me in the Fat Boy She whispers ‘oh, you’re going to be so glad we met boy’, hey And then I see, my love coming round for me Coming my way, she’s coming my way Oh yeah it’s hot, what my baby’s got is hot Coming my way, sugar’s coming my way And with a smile she gives another black coffee When love is ‘round the corner try to grab it if you can Or you’ll end up on your own because she picked another man If you really want to have a good time with your baby Don’t give an explanation ‘bout your taste, not even maybe Lie a little ‘bout the way you feel with Starbucks on your mind That your constricted throat ain’t gonna feel much better till you find a cup of black coffee Just give her everything you’ve got and more she’ll ever need No way you’re gonna say that nothing in the world can beat a cup of black coffee
9.
You really see me You really see me, that’s what you do You really love me through and through You really hold me and carry me too That’s what people say, that’s what people say I heard you made it happen all over the globe All this beauty, all this beauty Let it grow, let it grow But after a while you changed your style I guess you were getting tired And I can’t think of anyone who could get you fired Still I didn’t dig too long to find the ones that shine And they’re damn sure as they can be You are mine, you are mine You really see me, that’s what you do You really love me through and through You really hold me and carry me too That’s what people say, that’s what people say So you’ve been in charge, all this time I guess I must’ve been blind I don’t get it, I don’t get it, what did you have in mind? I am just a simple man with a simple brain Is all this pain the only answer you could find? I could have sworn I heard them say you love the human kind And I didn’t have to dig too long To meet the ones that shine And they are sure as they can be You are mine, you are mine
10.
Man out of me I’ve been wandering around, things were kind of slow For such a long time I didn’t know where to go But suddenly I was hooked and it didn’t seem wise She opened my eyes, made my temperature rise And made a man out of me I’ve been waiting for so long, searching day and night I hated every love song till I found my Mrs. Right She’s so pretty and she’s so smart She opened my heart then took me apart And made a man out of me Even when you think you are such a sad loner And for so long your heart’s been longing for an owner You don’t know what’s going to happen one fine day When finally, just like me, you’ll know the right thing to say The right thing to say I can’t be anything but grateful, she’s with me everywhere She gives me all her loving, her kisses and her care She’s so sophisticated, you should see her when she cries She opened my eyes, took me by surprise And made a man out of me She took me apart, opened my heart And made a man out of me

Gone 04:32
Gone The grounds I walked when I was small Days of dreaming, the dinner call Birds in boxes and a crazy dog Green, green grass, the garden fog Gone, gone, gone The sounds so weak at the top of the stairs The colored leaves from everywhere The giant tree, the pigeon cloud The singing priest, imaginary crowd Gone, gone, gone Stone on stone and wood on wood Wandering through the neighborhood Searching for beech nuts in the lane Splashing through the summer rain Struggling with a tattered kite Friday nights in black and white Litter burning in the yard A solid frame, a tender heart Gone, gone, gone
12.
Riversong 04:40
Riversong Sometimes I wish I was a stranger Wandering around in a world of sound Sometimes I think I lose the music I think I lose the music I just found Sometimes I just listen Sometimes I don’t know how If I only had a future Wandering around in my world of sound Sometimes I dig into the music I dig into the music and it spins my head around Someday I will stop and listen Someday I’ll gather it all I wonder what keeps me going What’s there keeping me company One day this river will stop flowing And then it will be just me Sometimes I don’t think about the future I don’t think about the future, I just listen to the sound Sometimes I dig into the music I dig into the music and it spins my head around Someday I will stop and listen Someday I’ll gather it all I wonder what keeps me going What’s there keeping me company One day this river will stop flowing And then it will be just me

about

On ‘Easy to see’ Bart de Win gives his very own interpretation of the americana feeling, exploring the boundaries between folk, countryrock, jazz and blues. Bart’s music is often compared to the music of Randy Newman, Dr. John, Ray Charles or Tom Waits. The new album contains 12 fresh songs that cannot be confined to one genre. A pleasant collection of original compositions that examines the edges of rootsy pop music.

'Easy to see' was produced by BJ Baartmans and recorded in Boxmeer, Austin, Chicago and Londen.
